How I broke my right shin

Saturday25th October 2008, afternoon, I was working away editing a juggling video (only have the first 15 seconds but it looks good so far !).
When my lovely fiancee asked me to help her to do the laundry (I'll never do that again ! ).
I put the music I used for the video on loud to get in the mood of the music and skidded on the wooden floor into the bedroom. You know cool style movie moves .... I was sliding happily, thinking I am so cool ...
And then I heard a big noise, a big loud CRACK ! for about 10 milliseconds I was wondering what was that noise ? then I realised ouch I think that was me ..
1 second later I was on the floor lying down with a lot of pain. I didn't know what happened but I could localise the pain in my right shin area. When Hannah looked at it she could see that bones on my shin were not in the right place. I was too horrified to look at it, but it was like a weird looking shin ! I could not move and I was in a lot of pain. Also this happened on the second floor of our house and the only way down was the spiral stair case.
It seems like an impossible task for me to go down the stairs, we decided to call an ambulance, unfortunately they were a lot of car accidents and they had no ambulance for me. We then called two friends to come and help (Thanks Bill & Ultan !) .
In the mean time Hannah put a splint around my leg which later on the paramedic said it was a great job and he did not change anything. When Bill and Ultan arrived I was already on the floor for at least an hour in pain. We tried to put a plank under me to see if they could manage to bring me downstairs but not a chance !
Hannah called back the ambulance and a paramedic arrived 30 minutes later (so 1h30min after accident). That was great he put me on pain killers straight away. I had morphine and some kind of laughing gas which were a great relief and make me forget about my pain so I stand up and walk downstairs through the spiral staircase! No just kidding it was way more complicated than that ! OK it was a great relief my brain was shut down for pain but the leg was too bad to move me. about another 30 minutes later the ambulance arrived with two ambulance crew and so did the fire brigade with 6 fireman ! so 12 people for one shin ! ouch !
I was so high I asked Bill to film it from there ... so he took my camera and filmed the last hour of me trying to escape the barn with 12 people ! I shall edit the video when I am in a better state to do some accident reconstruction scene !
Some silly lines while I am breathing that laughing Gas it makes good bit of noise like a scuba diving regulator , "Luke I am your father" , "I don't see any fish here" well you see the state I was in .....
Anyway after some long planning and conversation the fireman decide to go old school on it (or so Ultan heard !)
They decided to put me in a scoop and carry me through Narnia, we do have a walk in wardrobe with a door at the back, it was not the drugs believe me ! The door opens into the barn but there is a 2 meters drop from there.So they slide me down between two ladders on the scoop and at last after 3 hours I was out of the house ! in the Ambulance going to the hospital.
4 hours later at the hospital they again gave me more drugs and put my leg in a cast for it not to move until the operation the next morning.
I can not remember much from there except that I did not sleep much that night. They operated on me at noon on Sunday. I woke up around 2pm feelling very dizzy but the horrible pain was gone. They put me on a demand morphine drip whcih I never used as the pain was gone.

That is pretty much it. I still dont understand what really happened and why my shin broke. Some people says it is a freak accident and sometimes when your ankle and and knee have so much difference of an angle the shin just breaks.
