2010 Cadillac SRX. You might not guess by looking at it, but the current Cadillac SRX -- based on the first-generation CTS sedan platform and offering available V8 power -- is one of the more athletic mid-size luxury crossovers out there. For round two, the five-passenger SRX moves to a new front-wheel-drive-based platform and gains sportier sheetmetal, a richer interior and more sophisticated powertrains: a direct-injected 3.0-liter V6 good for an estimated 260 horsepower and a turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 delivering an estimated 300 horsepower. The top-level engine gives up 20 horsepower to the outgoing V8, but promises a significant improvement in fuel economy. The SRX will continue to offer optional all-wheel drive, now with an electronic limited-slip differential. Inside, contemporary interior design is complemented by a full set of modern amenities including a pop-up navigation/information system, dual-screen rear-seat entertainment and Bluetooth phone connectivity.
