Celebrities flocked to the red carpet in Munich last night for the MTV Europe Music Awards. Avril Lavigne was named solo artist of the year beating out big stars like Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. Lavigne also grabbed the "most addictive track" award for her song "Girlfriend." Other big winners include Nelly Furtado who grabbed best album for "Loose." Linkin Park won best band. Winners were chosen by viewer votes.
Comedian Stephen Colbert is being blocked from running for the White House. South Carolina Democrats voted not to add him to the presidential primary ballot in the state. The Comedy Central star filed his papers to run in his native state yesterday morning. The comedian was also considering running as a Republican but decided to go Democrat when he saw the hefty application fee on the Republican side.
Former radio host Don Imus is heading back to the airwaves. He's set to return to WABC radio on December 3 with a new morning show. Imus was fired by CBS radio in April for making racist and sexist comments on air about the Rutgers Women's basketball team. WABC's president says they're excited to bring back Imus' quote "unique brand of humor."
Actor Mark Ruffalo has welcomed another child. The actor's rep tells People magazine his wife Sunrise gave birth to a baby girl in Los Angeles. No other details were given. This is their third child...they also have a 6 year old son named Keen and a 2 year old daughter Bella. The couple married in 2000.
Several celebrities were honored last night by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. Kate Winslet grabbed the Britania British Artist of the Year award at the ceremony in Los Angeles. Actor Denzel Washington was at the event with his wife Pauletta...he was honored with the Stanley Kubrick Award for excellence in film. Other big stars like Jennifer Connelly and Helen Mirren were also there to show support.
