George Sampson, 14 year old lad from Warrington wins Britain's Got Talent 2008, £100,000 and a performance in The Royal Variety Show.
George Sampson admitted about his rare spine disease, Scheuermann's disease affecting posture, organ systems and the nervous system. He was blind in his right eye two months prior to entering the competition as the breakdancing damaged his spine. Doctors advise him to stop or he may face permanent damage, but George replies:
'There's no way I'd ever give up dancing. Nothing would stop me."'
He is spending a lot of the prize money to pay for his mother's mortgage although she wants him to keep it for himself.
