"Will Windows 7 open new vista for Microsoft ? That's how the news appeared in the newspaper today. I knew that this was going to happen soon. Window vista was never a very sound OS. It was slow and inefficient. Microsoft has learned it fast and the result is going to happen on 7th January 2009 when Microsoft CEO ,Steve Balmer once gain will pitch in the International CES trade fair in Las Vegas. The claim will be mainly on the followings... 1.Windows 7 is more effecient than XP and of course vista. 2.Faster boot up time (27 seconds , little faster than XP) 3.Faster shutdown time. It claims to be faster than Mandriva 2009. 4.Works faster than XP on only 1GB RAM. 5.Certain hardware issues are resolved in Windows 7. 6.Windows 7 lets you break your screen to the left and right to ease screen management. 7.Other video and memory management will be like Vista. The beta version is available for download and testing from Microsoft site however the final version is expected to be available on market no sooner than January 2010. Vista was stumbling since very beginning. I don't know how some people claim that vista was better than XP. It was very slow and what Microsoft have not claimed yet whether the new windows 7 will consume same power like vista or not. Vista continuously churn your hard disk to defrag your files and this causes lots of power consumption. According to M/S Frost and Sulivan till November 2008 the XP accounts for six times more share of total OS market compared to Vista. I am no fan of Micro Soft. The last I used windows in my desktop was in 2002. In my office there are some new computers which boosts of vista operating system. But eventually they were changed to XP as the user was complaining about slow processing. But how long would you be guided by Microsoft ? Why not try for a change now ?
